The NC State Soil Judging team placed 3rd overall at the 2019 regional contest held at Virginia Tech Oct. 7-10. The team saw many interesting soils formed in the Ridge and Valley of southwest Virginia.

The team placed 3 students in the top 10. Heath Clapp (2nd overall), Curtis Murphy (3rd overall), and Betsy Murphy (7th overall). This is the first time since 2004-2005 that NCSU has gone to nationals in back-to-back years. The team will compete in the national competition that will be hosted by The Ohio State University in the spring of 2020. Congrats to the team!
